I must repeat here what everyone knows about Oehring,
but which is never said loud enough:
he is a lung, a brain, and a heart in the field of classical contemporary music.
A lung, because he doesn’t care about technical scholastic questions,
like so many other composers who have never quit school
(who fill up the program notes with micro tonality,
deconstruction of the orchestra, identity of the material, blabla,
all the usual contemporary music bullshit).
Or, if he cares, he doesn’t need to say so.

Thank you for that fresh air. A heart and a brain,
because what we have instead of a technical indulgent compositional exercice is an artistic project,
which goes far beyond music problematic.
